The Old Town Salt Pig is found in the beautifully restored fifteenth century Scaplen’s Court, formerly a medieval merchant’s house. If only walls could talk… can you imagine the stories they could tell…

Poole Museum is a maritime museum, gallery and cultural centre, situated on the Lower High Street in the Old Town area of Poole, Dorset.

The unique event spaces within Scaplen’s Court are available for private hire whether corporate meetings, weddings, private parties or poetry readings. There is also a diverse programme of exciting events within Scaplen’s Court and Poole Museum.

Old Town Poole is so vibrant, with lots of great shops, bars and so many events & festivals on & around the Quay. Including boat trips to Brownsea Island, around Poole Harbour or a Birds of Poole Harbour boat trip.

Whilst you are here you must visit the newly redeveloped Poole Museum, admission is free, it offers a comprehensive exploration of the Poole’s maritime history and culture. The museum features six brand-new galleries spread across five floors, including three immersive maritime zones:

Visitors can also enjoy the Poole Iron Age Logboat, the largest of its kind in Southern Britain, now on open display.
