The Salt Pig is a proudly Purbeck-based business dedicated to bringing the very best of Purbeck farmland and coastline to the local community. From farm and sea to plate and counter, we champion exceptional local produce that is traceable, affordable and sustainable.
Founded by local farmer James, The Salt Pig began with a simple idea, to create a business where people could easily find honest, locally produced food from Purbeck farmers, fishermen and growers.
Set in the charming village of Langton Matravers, just outside Swanage, The Salt Pig Farm Putlake is a welcoming, family-friendly working farm where farming, food, education and play come together in a relaxed rural setting.
It is a working farm with a variety of animals including Mangalista cross Berkshire Pigs, goats and White Park Beef, sheep as well as ponies, donkeys, alpacas, chickens, ducks, turkeys and guinea pigs.

The café and restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with the same seasonally local produce, alongside a farm shop offering Purbeck meats, cheeses, groceries and deli items, plus an on-site butchery.
The Salt Pig, Wareham was the first Salt Pig location started back in 2008, with a simple goal of providing local produce to the Isle of Purbeck community and beyond.
