The Salt Pig Butcher & Meat Boxes
Cooking dinner? Fancy some different cuts? Is it a special occasion? Any occasion or time of year, we always provide customers with the best quality meat. Ordering a meat box with us guarantees you the best and most local cuts from across Purbeck. The Salt Pig is on hand any day of the week! Customers can either place an order over the phone or by email, or come into our stores, we just ask that you collect from our Wareham or Swanage Store.
If you need any recipe ideas feel free to follow us on our Social Media pages or pop into the store and have a chat with our butchers or chefs. The team can happily talk to you about your Meat Box and will guide you on which meat cuts to use in your recipes. They will even share some of their wisdom and skills with you. Give us 24 hours’ notice and we will have your box ready for you to collect from our shops.
The meat is natural with no added preservatives and can be frozen if you wish to do so.
You are always more than welcome to pop into either of the shops to collect other cuts of meat, fish and poultry.

Our meat comes from the heart of the Purbeck Region and is carefully looked after.
The animals have incredible open spaces to roam freely with the sun on their backs and the earth beneath their feet.
The meat is aged for a minimum of 28 days to guarantee the best produce and quality. Our butchers cut the meat on site to ensure that we know exactly what happens to our meat.
We don’t add any chemicals or artificial preservatives or colouring.
